Trip to Oregon

Last weekend (November 5th-10th) we went to see my family and friends in Medford, Oregon. It was a fun little vacation but definitely NOT long enough! We saw some interseting things on the side of the road on the way there. Usually we see donkeys, cows, and deer, but I've never seen horses before (YES!!! I've seen horses before, but not in the middle of nowhere between Winnemucca, NV and Lakeview, OR).
There were some donkeys in the middle of the road and when they finally moved out of the way for us, I rolled down my window and yelled "HEY DONKEY!" and it ran away. It was pretty funny haha! Here's my little guy lookin all cute:

My parents gave Kason his birthday present early and this is of Shawn and Kason putting it together:
Kason found the "fun drawer" in the kitchen:
We don't have a dishwasher in our apartment so Kason thought my parents' was the coolest thing in the world! He kept turning it on! Here he is laying on the floor trying to push the buttons:
We went for a drive up to Crater Lake with my brother and his little family. OH how I miss those TREES!!! You don't see this in Utah:
Kason and Megan fell asleep on the car ride and I wanted to get a picture of them. As you can see my fabulous husband kept getting in the way haha!
Crater Lake was really snowy and foggy. If you've ever been, it's absolutely amazing to see, but since it was so foggy, you couldn't really see anything. One of the reason's I wanted to go for a ride is to get a family picture in the outdoors with the enormous trees behind us, but we started a bit late and it got too dark so here's the best we came up with:
After our ride, we went back to my brother's house and had dinner. Here are a few of the kiddos playing:
My brother - Spence, his wife - Amanda, and their daughter - Megan:
My FABULOUS parents with Kason:
Thanks to everyone who made this trip a BLAST!!! I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my friends, but please know I had a great time seeing you guys and catchin up. We love you all!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

This little post goes out to my Dad! He turns 54 today and I just have to say that he is the greatest Dad EVER!!! I feel so blessed to have him as a dad - and a friend. He never lets us forget how much he loves us, he's always there to help if he's able to, he has the greatest jokes and songs with naughty words (thanks to my Grandma Hill - his MOM, and his Grandma's haha), he's so much fun to be with, I could go on and on, but I'll just say he's an all around AWESOME person! We love you so much, Dad, and we hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Halloween (Part 2)

For Halloween night, we met up with Tom and Michelle (Mason's parents/Tom is Shawn's brother) and went to Michelle's parent's house. We ate dinner then Michelle and I took the boys trick-or-treating. We were only going to go to a couple houses but Mason was just too excited so we went around the neighborhood. Kason did really good - this was his first year trick-or-treating (last year he was only 10 months old)! He held onto my finger and I took him to the doors. If the people were letting kids take a piece of candy, Kason would take a piece and put it in his little bucket - it was SO cute! Near the end, Kason got tired of walking but I was excited he did it! This picture is of Kason getting ready to go out:
Me and Kason:
Michelle and Mason:
Ok so I got a little camera happy of Kason eating his sucker! Oh well, it was cute anyway:

Halloween (Part 1)

On Halloween, I took Kason and Mason up to Henefer to see Shawn at his work. They like to have the kids come all dressed up and do some trick-or-treating there. The boys had fun and I think Shawn enjoyed showing off his little boy haha! On the way up to Henefer, I had to stop and take a couple pictures of the Devil's Slide (between Morgan and Henefer):
Kason was a girraffe (it was really hard to get a picture of him - he wouldn't hold still long enough!):
Mason was a conductor (he LOVES Thomas the Train and anything to do with trains):
Kason checkin out his candy:
The boys outside by the pond:

Shawn gave Kason a candy necklace to eat on the way home and by the time we got to where you get off I-84 to go into Ogden (about 25 minutes later) I think he was on a sugar high because he kept saying "HI!" "HI!" "HI!" It was hilarious!

Step Stools

Kason's new thing he's doing these days is using ANYTHING as a step stool! We have a small red step stool that stays in the bathroom (we used it for when my nephew was potty training). I think he had the color red in his head because he found a red basket that I keep my old baby magazines in and I guess he figured he could use that as a stool. So he dumps out the magazines:
And carries the basket to a new place :

To get on the chair that will get him closer to the desk items:

In the kitchen, reaching any dish possible:
In his bedroom, reaching things on his dresser:
Also in his room, getting on the chest to reach things on top of his book shelf:

Other things he has used is a pop up toy thing (go back up to the first picture of the dumped out magazines and look in the bottom left corner, that multi colored thing). He turns that over and steps on the bottom of it. Another thing is a tub kind of like the basket.

I love seeing his little brain at work but it makes me nervous at the things he's trying out! With the things he's doing now, I think I'm going to have a fearless boy!!!
