Where have we been?!?!

Sheesh! Sorry it's been over a month since our last post! Man it seems January has flown by. The next 4 posts are pretty much what we have been up to this past month. But a quick update on us: Shawn is still working for Kiddie Kandids and is enjoying it. I still get to be at home which I love! I'm still watching my nephew every day as well. Kason is getting more independent each day. He wants to help in everything. If we open the fridge, he drops what he is doing and runs over so HE can close it! If we close it, he cries! So we have to open it just so he can close it! It's that way with pretty much everything else - light switches, doors, cupboards, etc. He is also coming up with new words. At his checkup back in December, his Dr. was concerned that he wasn't saying two words together. He still isn't quite there, but he sure is talking a lot more! His new word is "vitamin." We give him vitamin/flouride drops every night after he brushes his teeth and we say "Here's your vitamins," and he says "me-me-me." It's pretty cute! Anyway, I hope this new year has started off great fo rall of you!

Enterprise

The weekend after New Year's, we went down to Enterprise to see Shawn's parents and Grandma. It was a nice little trip, as always. Shawn got Kason this wonderful sucker and he loved it haha!

But the highlight of the trip was installing a new toilet for Shawn's Dad!!! Tim and Marcia (Shawn's sister and bro-in-law) brought the new toilet over and Shawn and Tim installed it. But Marcia did a little cleaning first...

Haha! Gotta love cleaning the toilet!!! I didn't get before and after shots of the toilets - sorry (haha I KNOW you were dying to see pictures of toilets huh?!?!)... Anyway, as I said before, it was a nice trip - FREEZING - but fun!!!

Potato Pearls

My Mother-in-law gave us a can of potato pearls a while ago. I really don't get it, but Shawn would eat the pearls dry! And of course he gave some to Kason and he decided he liked them too! So one day Kason found the can and brought it to me - haha he wanted some pearls! Shawn put him in his high chair and let him go at it! It was pretty much empty before he started but he managed to find a few...

Curious Boy

I think any 2-year-old is a curious child! Kason loves to explore in cupboards, drawers, etc. We had to install 12 of those lock things on each door (in the kitchen and bathroom) so he wouldn't get in them. So whenever we have to get into one of them he runs over to take a look and tries to get a hold of anything that's in there. Then when we close the door, he cries and cries! One day I didn't want to battle with him so I just let him look through this cupboard and as you can see he had a great time!
He took all of my recipe cards out of that purple box and had them all over the place; he took the plastic cups out of the packaging and played with those; he took out the cooking bags from the box... He sure did have fun though! Watch out - if we ever visit your house, I promise he will go straight to your kitchen and have a party hahaha!

The Price is Right!

Kason LOVES the show - "The Price is Right." Way back in July (when he was about 19 months old), I tapped him actually throwing a fit when we changed the channel:

Now he's so funny because he will clap when the crowd claps or when the contestants win, and if the buzzer sounds after they didn't win, he'll say "Oh no!" Anyway, I just thought this picture was too cute - he was watching it so intently!
