We had an exciting weekend, but first I have to tell you all about a VERY scarry thing that happened to me this morning. Kason likes to go into his room (or our room when we leave the door open) and shut the door on himself. Then he cries for us to open it for him, then he shuts it again - you know their game they play when they are this age. Well I was doing laundry this morning, and if you've been in our apartment, you know that our washer and dryer are right next to the bathroom door. Kason decided to go into the bathroom and flush the toilet like he always does (then we have to chase him down and shut the door so he wont go back in there) and proceded to shut the door on himself. I guess I really didn't think anything of it while I was loading my washer. Then I hear him crying so I go to open the door and it WONT open! When Kason goes in the bathroom, besides flushing the toilet, he loves to open the drawer right next to the door - so if it's open, the door wont open!!!!! So Kason is stuck in the pitch black bathroom and I can't get to him! I pushed on the door hard enough to make the drawer move a little so I could manage to get my fingers inside. I was able to get the light on so he could at least see in there but the drawer was not budging anymore. After many prayers and a call to Shawn, I finally was able to jiggle the drawer all the open and make it fall out. It was a very scarry moment for me - not being able to get to my child! But I know Heavenly Father helped me and for that I am truly grateful!
Ok as for the weekend... South Ogden was having their "South Ogden Days" last week and Saturday was the final day of it. They ended it with a concert and fireworks. Michelle (my sister-in-law) called us up and said "We are going to see the fireworks, do you wanna come?" So, after twisting Shawn's arm we went along with them. Around this time last year, Kason was only 6 1/2 months old so he really didn't think muck of the fireworks then. But this year he was just in awe! He LOVED them!
Tom and Michelle got some glow sticks for the boys - Shawn thought it would be funny to hook it onto Kason's binki. It was pretty funny!
He sat with Michelle and was just wide-eyed the whole time!
So I guess you have to hold the camera really still to get a great firework shot, but I thought this was cool anyway.
Sunday night we made our way to Salt Lake for dinner with my Dad's family. It was so great to see everyone - we hadn't seen them since March, I believe. Fun times!!!
