After spending the day at Sand Hollow, we went back to our hotel, got all cleaned up (TRIED to wash the sunblock out of Kason's hair), then went out again to the final "get-together" of the reunion. We met up at a park and had BBQ beef sandwiches and some salads. The kids got to go "fishing" for some prizes too.
Kason spent a good half hour going up and down these stairs on the playground!

Kason is sitting on Shawn's shoulders. Something got him smiling...

Fishin for some prizes!

He got some pretty cute sungalsses and, if you look around his neck, a candy necklace, and some other fun prizes. He devoured his candy necklace and the next picture is of him after he was done sucking on it haha!!!

Another "Family Photo Opp":

After a day full of fun and adventures, it didn't take long for Kason to fall asleep - thank goodness haha!!!(BTW he had another bath before he fell asleep here - I washed his hair a total of 3 TIMES to get that darn sunblock out of his hair!!!)

If you want to see more photos of this reunion (I took about 95 pictures and wasn't about to post them all here!), go to: http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa279/shawnterry987654321/2008-09-07/?albumview=grid

The Six Quirks Tag

Kelley tagged me and I had to come up with six quirks about myself. Here are the rules:
-Link the person who tagged you
-List 6 of your quirks
-Tag 6 other bloggers by linking them
-List the rules on your blog

1- When I hang our clothes up, everything has to be "facing" the same way and I hang all of my t-shirts together, long-sleeves together, pants together, etc.

2- All of our movies and cd's are alphabatized! I know, kinda dumb and crazy! HA!

3- Shawn would probably say that one of my quirks is that I write too many "thank you" cards! I didn't think that was a bad thing haha! (not that "quirks" are a bad thing either)

4- I guess since this is our family blog, I'll list one or two of Shawn's - his socks are folded inside out. You don't get it? HAHA! If you take one sock and make it inside out, then take another sock and make it inside out, then fold those two together you have what he insists I do! He says if I fold it the other way - the NORMAL way - spiders could crawl in them and bite his toes or something. I fold MY socks the "normal" way and haven't had a spider bite yet...

5- Shawn will insist to wash his own eye glasses. I've offered many times to wipe them off or wash them, but he just says, "I'll do it." So I just let him wash mine too haha!

6- Ok one more for me - I can't stand pickles on hamburgers or sandwiches. I have to pick them off and throw them away! I will eat the sweet pickles (NOT dill!) by themselves but not on stuff. And I'll eat the small pickle bits in potato salad or whatever but not on hamburgers.

I don't think I have 6 people to tag but the "6" that I tag are Amy (I know, you were already tagged by Kelley, sorry!), Becky, BethAnna, Brandis, and Marcia.

Sleepin in the swing!

On Sunday, we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house. Our church gets out at 12:00pm and we left shortly after we got home. I thought it would be a perfect time to go because Kason could take a nap in the car on our way there (it takes about an hour to get from our place in Ogden to there's in Salt Lake). But did he take a nap?!?! NO WAY!!! So we got to my Grandparents house and ate a fabulous lunch then Shawn took Kason out to the swing. If I haven't said it before, I'll say it now - Kason LOVES to swing! If we try to take him out he'll cry and get so mad. So he swung (ha! is that even a word?) for a little while then we went inside and played with some toys. After getting bored with the toys, we went back outside and swung some more. I knew he had to be tired because it was about 4:00 and he still hadn't had his nap. So he was just swinging and Shawn and I were talkin with my grandparents and my aunt and uncle then all of a sudden we look over and he's asleep! HAHA! It really was the cutest thing! So I got a few pictures and a little video of it. I'll apologize now for the sideways video! I took it with my phone and couldn't figure out how to rotate it...

What the Bucket Seat?!?!

Last night we went to Salt Lake (Murray) with a bunch of Shawn's family. His sister and brother-in-law, Laura & Lee, brought their son, Aaron, to Salt Lake to enter the MTC today (they live in Texas). As sort of a "Farewell Party" for Aaron, we all met at Pier 49 Pizza in Murray for dinner. Afterwards, those who wanted went to Murray Park. I have to say they sure don't make playground equipment like they did when I was a kid!!! These are just a few of the FUN "rides" they had at the playground:

But BY FAR the best "ride" there, was this:

THE BUCKET SEAT!!!

Oh my HECK!!! This was the craziest thing in the whole world!!! You would think "oh no that's just for kids," NO WAY!!! Shawn's fabulous sisters "made" all the adults ride this thing! You sit in there and you get someone to push you and around you go, faster and faster. You laugh because it feels so weird then all of a sudden you feel this wave of nausea go through your stomach and all through your body and it's "Ok STOP! I'm ready to get off now!" Then once you get off the thing it's the weirdest dizzyness you'll ever feel (I'm serious! I don't think I've ever felt that kind of dizzy before haha). Here are some great pictures of us all doing it:

Shawn & Kason

Me

Kason - he's lookin a little sick!

Donna (Shawn's sister)

Val (Donna's husband)

Laura (Shawn's sister)

Lee (Laura's husband)

Aaron (Lee & Laura's son, the missionary)

Aaron, again - I'm telling you, it's so hard to walk when you get out of it!

BethAnna (Shawn's sister)

Skyler (Beth's daughter)

Terryn (Beth's daughter)

JoEllen (Shawn's sister)

So if you're in the Murray Park area and want to go on a ride that's just as fun as a Lagoon ride, but FREE, you should definitely go ride the Bucket Seat!

Ok not that this blog is LONG ENOUGH, but I need to say one more thing to Aaron (even though you may not read this for 2 years haha) - good luck on your mission (he will be serving in the "Spanish Speaking Ogden, Utah" mission haha), you will do great! We love you buddy!

Camping

We went camping over the weekend with Shawn's brother, Tom, and his wife and son (the boy I watch everyday). We camped up Logan canyon and it was beautiful up there! The weather was GREAT! After our Bear Lake camping expereince (VERY windy, rainy, and water in the tent), we bought some seam sealer and applied it to all the seams in the tent. As we were laying on our fabulous air matress (ha! not really) Friday night, I told Shawn, "I really, really don't want it to rain, but I kinda do to see if the seam sealer works!" Thank goodness it didn't rain - I'm not really sure what I was thinking when I said that! HAHA! Anyway, Kason had a BLAST up there! He loves being outside and loved to explore his new surroundings!

If you look closely, there is a small yellow ball that Shawn is about to pick up. Shawn would throw that really high in the air and Kason just laughed at that! When Kason got the ball he would hold it above his head and let go as if he were throwing it in the air! It was pretty cute!

You can tell in this picture that Kason rubbed his little dirty hands under his nose. Poor guy! He had a runny nose the whole time we were up there!

"Thanks, Uncle Tom, for the pop bottle!" It was the funniest thing! Tom gave Kason this bottle and he left a little bit of pop for Kason to drink. Kason started to suck on the bottle then turned it over to suck on the bottom. Ya he dumped out all the pop that was in there in the process of turning it over! HAHAHA!!! It was pretty funny!

Kason was sitting on the bench and somehow slipped and bumped the back of his head. Of course he cried and of course he rubbed his tearry eyes with his dirty hands and I couldn't pass up a picture of his sad little face! Our little "racoon"! HA!
